B&N is providing support to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) District 1 on a project that will widen a two-mile section of State Highway 41 (SH-41) from two lanes to four, provide grade separation at railroad crossings and add three pedestrian underpasses.

Prior to joining the project team, B&N provided OpenRoads training that was attended by ITD employees. Based on the in-house expertise demonstrated as well as B&N’s pathways expertise, ITD brought B&N on to the project team to provide hands-on training, shared-use-path design and review, as well as other support services. Since joining the team, B&N employees have been conducting hands-on OpenRoads training with ITD employees, demonstrating how to use more advanced tools and increase efficiency in designs.

B&N’s scope of work for the SH-41 project includes:

  • Advanced OpenRoads training
  • Grant application assistance for one of the three underpasses
  • SH-41 roadway geometry, shared-use-path alignments, and drainage design plan review
  • Additional CADD support to help meet the project’s target completion date
