The Scotts Company looked to B&N’s expertise for assistance with the closure of five landfills and seven former lagoons/ponds specified under a consent order with the Ohio EPA.
B&N prepared plans, specifications and construction Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s) for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) closures of the former hazardous waste landfills.
For this design/build project, B&N acted as a subcontractor. The project required containment of all runoff, movement of waste, construction of sheet pile walls, closure, and construction under conditions requiring worker protection. The B&N team also estimated construction quantities and led negotiations with the Ohio EPA.
