The City of Hudson, Ohio, retained B&N to replace an outdated bridge located on a dead-end city street in a park-like neighborhood. The new bridge design increased hydraulic capacity, improved traffic flow and minimized impacts on surrounding properties with seamless integration into the natural wooded environment. During the geotechnical investigation, artesian water was discovered in the underlying stream. This led to the implementation of a unique substructure design that effectively reduced the need for temporary shoring and limited impact on nearby properties.

Completed in 2021, the new 38-foot bridge features a single-span slab with anchored soldier pile and concrete wall abutments. The design and landscaping plan for the bridge were developed through collaborative public meetings with the City and local property owners
