Along the historic Old Route 66 near Parks, Arizona, B&N provided engineering services to Coconino County to replace an existing concrete box culvert, improve the roadway surface and provide a shoulder for multi-modal usage. The primary focus of this project was to remove and replace the failing box culvert underneath the roadway. B&N provided structural design, permitting, and a water investigation to resolve the issues with the current structure. Simultaneously, our roadway engineers provided engineering services to overlay the road and add a shoulder to the project roadway area. These improvements will allow for a smoother drive, enhanced safety for multi-modal users (bicycle/pedestrian), and a structurally sound culvert to provide a safer roadway for decades to come.
