For the initial phase of this project, B&N has begun updating the Butler Avenue and Fourth Street intersection for the City of Flagstaff, Arizona, to keep up with population grown in a suburban setting. The project focus addresses traffic congestion and public demand for accommodations for cyclists and pedestrians to feel safe and comfortable utilizing this roadway intersection.
With extensive feedback from the City of Flagstaff, Arizona, and the local community, B&N’s design includes a widened roadway and the addition of bicycle lanes, off-street bicycle facilities, bus stops and sidewalks. Along with these improvements, B&N provided several roundabout options for future consideration by the City and local community. These additions will provide enhanced intersection safety and alleviate future traffic congestion concerns.
