Douglas Cobb, PE, PTOE, RSP2i, PhD | Tampa, FL
Doug joined B&N in 2021 as a Traffic Safety Engineer in the Tampa office. His 11-year career includes transportation and planning, with a focus on safety studies, human factors, traffic analysis, corridor studies, road diets, and active transportation engineering. Doug has worked extensively with state and federal transportation clients including multiple departments of transportation, the Federal Highway Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Civil Engineering, and from Oregon State University with a Doctorate in Engineering.
Deserae Dinger, CPSM | Columbus, OH
Deserae is a Senior Marketing Coordinator with 15 years of business development experience. As part of the corporate Marketing team, she supports the Columbus Transportation Division which supports efforts in Columbus, the Pacific Northwest, Washington, D.C., and other growth areas. Since joining B&N in 2020, Deserae has guided teams on how to articulate strategic messaging and initiated innovative ideas that have improved efficiency and effectiveness. This includes the firm-wide adoption of a pursuit go/no-go process and a beta test for client experience training. Deserae earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer.
Sarah Johanssen | Columbus, OH
Sarah leads the Corporate Communications team and oversees content development for the firm’s internal and external communications. Over the course of her 20-year career at B&N, she has developed new processes and programs to help expedite quality deliverables and increase visibility in the industry. This includes the launch of our corporate blog, podcast and social media accounts as well as developing B&N’s crisis communication plan and providing communication support for several key acquisitions. Sarah has also collaborated with technical teams and their clients to provide communication support for public engagement initiatives. She is a graduate of Ohio University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.
Christie Ruffner, PE, CDT | Columbus, OH
Christie joined B&N in 2006 and is a Project Manager in the Columbus Treatment Plant Design Section. Over the course of her 16-year career at B&N, she has managed a range of projects including diverse tasks at multiple Division of Sewerage and Drainage locations under the General Engineering Contract for the City of Columbus. Christie's expertise includes water distribution studies, water and wastewater plant design, hydraulic modeling with the use of software to analyze various hydraulic situations and pump station analysis and civil site work. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Youngstown State University.
