Cynthia Alvarez, PE | Phoenix, AZ
Cynthia joined B&N in 2015 and serves as a project manager, deputy project manager and lead engineer for transportation planning and engineering services. She is involved in all phases of project development from planning to final design as well as being a critical member of the team that secures and delivers planning and design contracts in Phoenix. Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University. She is an excellent ambassador of the firm. She rose through the officer track of the Phoenix Branch of the ASCE Younger Member Forum organization and is the current president of the 200-member organization. Cynthia is also involved with WTS and the ITE Younger Member Committee.
Dakotah DeRoche, PE | Louisville, KY
Dakotah is a design engineer in the Louisville Water/Wastewater Section. She joined B&N in 2012 and her experience includes project management and detailed design and plan production of wastewater retention facilities, pump stations, portions of treatment plants, pipelines, and manhole and pipeline rehabilitations. Dakotah earned a Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville. She is also NASSCO certified in laterals, manhole and pipelines, and is an Associate Design-Build Professional. Dakotah is the face of B&N with Louisville MSD and Frankfort Sewer Department. She has also fostered a great relationship with Ulliman Schutte and has helped solidify our partnership with this contractor on multiple progressive design-build projects. Dakotah invests time in promoting B&N through projects with clients and attendance and involvement with several external organizations including Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE), ASCE and the KY/TN WEA.
Josh Ford, PE | Columbus, OH
Josh joined the B&N team in 2007 and has been connecting clients to sanitary sewer solutions since that time. Josh has experience in flow monitoring and Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys for systems across Central Ohio. He is a trusted resource for I/I issues and currently serves as the Village Engineer for the Village of Marble Cliff, Ohio. Josh's design experience also includes storm sewer improvements, utility relocations, wastewater collection systems and water transmission and distribution systems. Josh earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University and is NASSCO certified. Josh has been one of our key staff members involved in the development of B&N’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) application for the evaluation of sewer pipes.
Brenton Hasenour, PE | Evansville, IN
Brenton has 16 years of experience, joining B&N in 2020. His experience includes detailed design and plan production of wastewater collection systems, force mains, pump stations, and manhole and pipeline rehabilitations. He also has extensive experience building and calibrating hydraulic models for both sanitary and combined sewer systems. Brenton earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Evansville. Brenton is leading the firm’s growth and expansion efforts into the Evansville market, taking on the challenging task of building an office from scratch and introducing many new potential clients to B&N.
Chad Kohler, AIA | Cincinnati, OH
Chad returned to B&N in May 2021 as the Architectural Practice Leader in Cincinnati. His 16 years of experience include leading mid- to large-scale, high-end, architectural mixed-use and retail development projects. When he was with B&N previously, Chad worked on a wide range of architecture projects including the Human Performance Wing and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base. Chad earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Architecture from Boston Architecture College. He is also a registered NCARB.
Molly Loucks, PE | Boise, ID
Molly joined B&N in 2013 has served as the project or deputy project manager on multiple Idaho and other B&N projects. She has managed over $62 million (construction cost) of B&N's roadway and study-level projects in Idaho since she opened the office two years ago in support of our firm’s Pacific Northwest growth initiative. A leader in B&N's innovative design group, Molly serves as one of B&N's lead roundabout engineers, and routinely works with B&N's traffic and planning groups to deliver planning and preliminary engineering projects. Molly attended the University of Idaho where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Jeff Marnicio, PE | Painesville, OH
Jeff currently serves as an engineer in the Utility Infrastructure Section of the Painesville office. He joined Burgess & Niple in 2001 and has developed into a leader for technical excellence in the expansion and upgrade of wastewater treatment plants, design of wastewater collection systems, wastewater and water pump station design, storm sewer studies and design, water distribution design, upgrade of water treatment plants and water distribution modeling. He has demonstrated his commitment to assisting other B&N teams with his willingness to travel, train, and impart his knowledge. Jeff earned a Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Cleveland State University and is PACP-certified. Additionally, he serves as a primary business development contact for clients such as Barberton, Tallmadge, Aurora, Oberlin, Girard, and Elyria in Northeast Ohio.
Patty Scharf, PE | Cincinnati, OH
Patty joined B&N in 2007. Her experience includes general site design, water distribution modeling, roadway design, and database design. She has provided engineering support for civil site layout, roadway alignments, design of storm sewers, calculation of stormwater detention volumes and overall site grading. Recently, Patty has taken on a new role where she is working to integrate technology into our project approaches to bring them to life with programs like InfraWorks and Bentley applications. Patty graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She is also a certified Design-Build Professional.
Will Strehler, PE | Portland, OR
Will Strehler is an engineer in the Facility Inspection Section. He joined Burgess & Niple 2015 and is involved with inspections and evaluations of bridges, dams and other structures. He has participated in more than 1,400 bridge inspections and climbed more than 100 bridges in eight states. Will has experience with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) inspection manuals, PONTIS, BrM and a variety of other structural evaluation and inspection software and load rating analysis. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Portland State University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Will is leading the charge for B&N’s growth and expansion in the Oregon market.
Ryan Williamson, PE | Orlando, FL
Ryan joined B&N in 2011 as a transportation engineer in the Orlando office. His responsibilities include project management, business development, preparation of pavement design and typical section packages, plan production and quantity development for various transportation projects. He has developed and maintains relationships with a number of our key client contacts and managers in the growing Florida market. Ryan is a Certified Bridge Inspector and provides inspection services for various types of bridges and other structures on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) contracts. He has experience with AASHTO and FDOT design standards and manuals, as well as FHWA and FDOT structures inspection manuals. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University.
Ashley Williston, PE | Painesville, OH
Ashley joined B&N in 2015. Her background includes water and wastewater projects in Northeast Ohio. For 13 years, she has been responsible for partnering with utilities to develop design plans, specifications, cost estimates, workshop facilitation and report writing. Ashley's experience also includes the preparation of Technical Justification Reports for local limitation of Industrial Pretreatment Programs. Ashley graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Ashley excels at client relationships and consistently creates new business opportunities for B&N, specifically with new clients that she knows from her involvement with professional organizations and social media activities. She has created relationships and won work with new clients such as North Ridgeville, Twinsburg, and Lorain in Northeast Ohio.
