This workshop provides attendees a full day to learn about implementing a Physical Condition Assessment and Predictive Maintenance Tools and how Utilities can use the results to Guide Investments and Lower Life Cycle Costs. This workshop provides hands-on experience with predictive maintenance technologies and equipment present for attendees to learn about, use and experience.

The City of Columbus Division of Water (DOW) has a history of being early adopters of new technologies. In 2013, the DOW asked infraPLAN to introduce the Linear Extended Yule Process (LEYP) model to predict water main breaks. DOW staff regularly updated the results over the last decade. Machine learning was recently considered and tested. This presentation will compare both LEYP and machine learning, their easiness of use, the performance of the models, and their capacity to provide planning answers.

This session will kick off with a high-level overview of maintenance and reliability, introducing the elements of a program (planning and scheduling, predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, etc.) and some key definitions. Kevin will also present on developing asset-specific maintenance strategies at 9:15 AM MST.
