Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a part time Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

B&N Mechanical Engineering Intern Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of senior level engineers
  • Perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Provide design and drafting support in producing deliverables, contract documents, design calculations and analysis, and assisting lead mechanical engineers in a team environment Perform technical writing for studies
  • Perform HVAC load calculations
  • Perform site visits to obtain field dimensions and other relevant project data

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Be dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in at team setting
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
