Civil Engineer, Entry Level

Collaborate with some of the top water/wastewater experts in the industry to develop water and wastewater design and improvement projects. Prepare reports, construction plans, specifications and contract documents for municipal public works projects.

B&N Civil Engineer – Entry Level Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as part of a project team, learning from experienced professional engineers
  • You will be involved in land development, storm water, water and sanitary sewer systems
  • Assist lead project engineers with concept planning, site investigations/assessments, preliminary plans, final construction plans for land development clients throughout the state of Virginia
  • You will have the opportunity to interact with clients and governing municipalities
  • You will be involved in bid/contract document preparation, while having some construction administration duties

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or combination of relevant experience or training leading to a degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1-3 years’ experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people, both orally and in writing
  • Strong computer skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office software programs
  • Strong communication, computer, and organization skills are essential in this role
