Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Collaborate with some of the top water/wastewater experts in the industry to develop water and wastewater design and improvement projects. Perform as a lead Civil Engineer and prepare reports, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates for municipal public works projects.

B&N Water/Wastewater Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design of water/wastewater projects. Typical projects will include water transmission mains, sanitary sewers, wastewater force mains, and wastewater pump stations.
  • Create and develop scopes of work and budgets for projects.
  • Actively lead and participate in project delivery to create an exemplary client experience
  • Monitor performance indicators, budgets, schedules, and manage risk
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for engineering team

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • PE registration in VA, or the ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 7+ years of related water and sewer design experience
  • Software experience with Microsoft Office and Civil 3D required
  • Desire and ability to work in a group setting and to mentor junior staff members supporting projects
  • Strong communication skills, quality control, and organization skills are essential to the success of this role
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
