B&N is expanding our team in the Pacific Northwest and is seeking a skilled Transportation Civil Engineer to join our team in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading the engineering designs of various projects and is eager to expand their expertise by taking on more technically challenging work. B&N Transportation Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Participate in delivering professional transportation design services for a variety of clients throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest; current projects include ADA curb ramp design, roundabouts, trails, and both urban and rural roadways
  • Produce engineering plans, specifications, and estimates, leading projects from inception to completion
  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers and designers to solve complex engineering problems
  • Opportunity to mentor junior level staff and interns

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • PE registration in OR or ability to become registered through reciprocity
  • 4+ years of related transportation design and delivery experience, prior experience working with or delivering work for public transportation agencies in Oregon preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong proficiency in either OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with Bentley’s ProjectWise, Connection Client and/or AASHTO’s estimating software is a plus but not required
  • Strong collaboration and excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
