Are you motivated, energetic and ready to take your career to the next level? B&N is seeking a Transportation Planner to conduct, produce, lead and/or manage, and support pursuit of Transportation Planning, Safety, and Engineering Studies. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in transportation safety planning (including SS4A, STSP, and other safety-focused studies), general transportation and traffic planning (regional transportation plans, corridor studies, area studies), and vulnerable road user needs and analysis. Position can be filled in either Tempe or Flagstaff, AZ.

  B&N Transportation Planner Responsibilities

  • Actively participate, produce/deliver, and/or lead tasks for transportation safety, planning and engineering projects
  • Potential to direct the work of others, develop staff, and continue building your own technical skillset
  • Maintain quality control of your work products and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery
  • Participate in agency coordination, planning and programming, and work with multi-discipline teams
  • Expand relationship depth with key existing and new clients
  • As part of the project team support the preparation of proposals and interviews and support scope development and execution upon selection

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), or similar
  • 4+ years of related transportation and traffic safety experience
  • AICP or GISP certification desirable
  • Strong GIS and data analysis skills required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ArcGIS
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
