Burgess & Niple is looking for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager/Sr. Design Engineer to join our team in Tempe, AZ leading day-to-day project activities for the design of water and wastewater facilities. Typical projects may include water transmission/distribution mains, water booster stations, water storage tanks/reservoirs, sanitary sewers, wastewater force mains, wastewater pump stations and water/wastewater modeling.
B&N Water/Wastewater Project Manager/Sr. Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Work with other engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the production of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects, including the design and construction oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Participate in project field work for the collection of data, site assessments, field verifications and related functions
- Conduct / oversee water/wastewater modeling
- Coordinate with B&N project teams, locally and nationally
- Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery
- Participate in new business proposal preparation
- Promote a positive team environment
- Opportunity to provide training, coaching, and mentoring for junior level staff
- Monitor performance indicators, deadlines, budgets, schedules, and manage risk
- Maintain quality control of services and deliverables
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Arizona PE registration, or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 4 years of related water/wastewater experience
- Must be able to interact and effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with B&N staff, external clients, project stakeholders, and construction contractors.
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D design package and Microsoft Office applications (strong Excel skills is a plus)
