Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Tempe, AZ office.

 What you can expect as the major duties and responsibilities:

  • Serve as a task lead on multi-discipline projects to prepare cost estimates, construction plan documents and reports
  • Mentor junior staff in design and plan production efforts
  • Perform quality control processes to ensure plan quality prior to project submittal
  • Opportunities to assist with traffic engineering, safety projects and hydraulic/storm sewer projects
  • Participate in Arizona growth initiatives to further build core business functions

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
  • PE registration in the State of Arizona, or ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 8+ years of related design experience, leading and performing design and construction plan development for ADOT, MCDOT and local agency clients
  • Great communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment and develop junior staff members Strong communication skills a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office and design software such as MicroStation/AutoCAD; Civil 3D/Bentley OpenRoads is preferred
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
