Burgess & Niple is looking for an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our team in Parkersburg, WV working on a variety of utility infrastructure projects at various stages of development, from preliminary design to construction.

B&N Civil Engineer – Utility Infrastructure Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and staff to complete project assignments, including planning activities and preparing plans and specifications for water, storm water and wastewater system improvements
  • Interact with clients, including participation in project meetings
  • Field work including assignments to assist with surveying and field data gathering
  • Occasional out-of-town travel, which typically consists of less than a two-hour drive (one-way)
  • Opportunities may include observing construction and participating in construction contract administration 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • EIT or EI with a desire to become a PE
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Previous co-op experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation experience a plus
