Burgess & Niple is looking for a Roadway Engineer for our Florida Roadway Team in Orlando. Come work with a wide range of professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaborate with industry leaders in transportation.

B&N Roadway Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Roadway Engineer capable of leading roadway design tasks with oversight of production staff to meet project goals.
  • Responsibilities include serving as engineer of record, contributing to new project pursuits, and assisting in project management tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with the design team to lead, develop, and prepare project deliverables to meet project objectives and schedule.
  • Lead and participate in internal and client meetings related to assigned projects. Provide oversight and direction to team in the preparation of project deliverables for roadway related components on assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate engineering skills including roadway analysis tasks such as vertical and horizontal geometry, pavement design, and temporary traffic control. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil or transportation engineering program.
  • PE registration in the State of Florida, or ability to be registered with reciprocity.
  • 10+ years of related roadway design experience. Proficient in MS Office and OpenRoads/MicroStation.
  • Demonstrated expertise with FDOT design and CAD criteria and experience applying them in plans development is required.
  • Great communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools.
  • Experience leading design tasks or serving as roadway design lead and has a strong interest in transportation engineering.
  • Motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems.
