Survey Technician

Collaborate with industry leaders, learn from experienced surveyors, and work as part of a project team on a wide variety of tasks and projects in the field and office.

 B&N Survey Technician Responsibilities:

•  Perform survey work (field and office) under the direction of a Professional Surveyor
• Perform field work and survey computations for boundaries, subdivisions, easements, and existing topographic base mapping; deed research in various jurisdictions
• Assist on preparation of plats, legal descriptions and INDOT right-of-way plans
• Operate CADD and survey software
• Utilize and maintain survey field equipment
• Regularly communicate with designers, state and local agencies

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 4+ years of surveying (field or office) experience, with a minimum of 2 years computing experience
• Use of Civil3D or Open Roads survey software with supervision, experience with MS Word and Excel
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to travel within the region
• Self-motivated and adaptable, tech savvy that includes the capability to learn new surveying technologies
