Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Design Engineer to join our Indianapolis office.

B&N Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Supported and mentored by a team of technical experts and project managers design and produce plans for variety transportation design projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)
  • Collaborate on plan production to produce high quality plans, specifications that follow INDOT standards and guidelines
  • Manage and coordinate project drawings using Microstation, InRoads software
  • Complete design tasks and produce high quality plans, specifications, and estimate deliverables to create an exemplary client experience
  • Collaborate with engineering staff on technical challenges while adhering to task performance indicators, budgets, and schedules

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program 
  • PE registration
  • 20+ years of related transportation design experience
  • Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation and InRoads required
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
