Roadway Engineer

Collaborate with industry leaders, learn from experienced roadway design engineers, and work as part of a project team on roadway design and rehabilitation projects for local and state transportation clients.

B&N Roadway Engineer Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and advance transportation design and analysis skills from experienced civil PEs
  • Grow and develop your existing toolset with project tasks for preliminary design and production of highway and roadway plans including development of traffic control, drainage and traffic plans
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports for highways, urban streets, bikeways, and interchanges for INDOT and local public agencies
  • Share your knowledge with entry level engineers as a valuable project team member

Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering
  • EI/EIT certification required with a desire and ability to get a PE license; preferred is PE registration in the State of Indiana, or ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 2 to 4 years of roadway design experience
  • Great communication skills to make an impact on projects for our clients in the public or private sector
  • Microsoft Office and Microstation; InRoads or OpenRoads experience is a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
