Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for a part-time Civil Engineering intern, Municipal Infrastructure to join our team in Fort Worth. This internship transitions to full-time for summer 2025.

B&N Civil Engineer intern, Municipal Infrastructure Responsibilities:

  • Work with experienced engineers on a wide variety utility infrastructure design and field services
  • Be responsible for design tasks that could include technical design of storm sewers, waterlines, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects and quantity takeoff with cost estimation
  • Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. (Perform computations by substituting numbers in specific formulas Plot data and draw simple curves and graphs)
  • Get involved as part of the project team through both office and field assignments

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering in an ABET accredited program and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
  • Strong interest in utility infrastructure design projects; previous internships are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Civil 3D and AutoCAD preferred
