Come work with a wide range of professionals at an established A/E firm that value employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for an entry level Civil Engineer Co-op (Traffic) to join our team in our Columbus OH office


Civil Engineer Co-op, Traffic Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of experienced transportation engineers on various traffic engineering projects such as capacity analyses and safety evaluations
  • Develop familiarity and skills with traffic and capacity studies, crash diagrams, safety analysis, data collection, traffic modeling, traffic control (signing and pavement marking) design, signal design, and MOT design
  • Assist engineers with developing reports that summarize traffic and safety analyses for large interchange projects as well as urban and rural roadways and intersections
  • Assist engineers with project scoping and final design, such as developing construction plans, cost estimates and specifications using design tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD


Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
  • You have a strong interest in traffic engineering; previous internships are a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
