Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for an entry-level Civil Engineering, Utility Infrastructure to join our team in Columbus.

B&N Civil Engineer, Utility Infrastructure Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of Engineers-in-Training s and Professional Engineers assisting with utility infrastructure design and field services
  • Be responsible for design tasks that could include technical design or analysis of storm sewers, waterlines, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects from initial planning and assessment reports through detailed design, construction inspection and cost estimation
  • Assist with field data collection via flow monitoring, smoke & dye testing, inspections and CCTV work for various municipality and city improvement projects in Ohio
  • Interact with clients, including participation in project meetings

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 0-2 years of related utility infrastructure experience. Prior internship strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office  (Excel) required. Experience with Civil3D, and ArcGIS a preferred
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and to lift 50lbs
  • Enjoy working outdoors and getting hands on experience with underground utilities
