Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that value employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a GIS Intern to join our team in Columbus part-time for Spring 2025.

B&N GIS Intern Responsibilities:

  • Routine data entry, data management, creation, conversion, and generation of maps
  • Organize and manage tabular and graphical data, metadata and produce maps for analysis by others and cartographic maps for illustrations, reports, and presentations
  • Assistance with other technical projects and proposals requiring mapping
  • Additional Areas of Responsibility as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in the field of Geography, GIS, or Cartography Competencies and have completed at least two years of your undergraduate degree
  • Proficiency with database management, data conversion software, map projections
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS products including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online
  • Open source GIS data and software experience -Programming (Python, SQLite, JavaScript) desired
  • Ability to work in a team and assist engineers and other GIS professionals in researching and documenting geographic and surface features and formations
  • Solid written and verbal communication with technical users is required
  • Must exhibit integrity, client focus, excellence, respect, collaboration and innovative thinking
