Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for an entry level Transportation Engineer to join our team in Boise.

B&N Transportation Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Participate in delivering professional transportation design services to a wide variety of clients throughout Idaho and the Pacific Northwest Collaborate with Professional Engineers and design staff on to solve complex engineering problems
  • Develop roadway design layouts, models, plan sheets, cost estimates, and exhibits
  • Provide occasional support on bridge design and rehab projects
  • Work on signal, signing and pavement marking, and traffic control plan development
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines as needed to deliver projects

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited program in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering 
  • Engineer Intern registration or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with Autodesk (AutoCAD, or Civil 3D), or Bently Products (MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads)
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
