Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for a summer 2025 Civil Engineer Co-op, Transportation to join our team in Akron.

B&N Civil Engineer Co-op Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and learn from experienced professional engineers while working on transportation infrastructure projects
  • Typical projects could include traffic and safety analysis, roadway/highway design, complete streets design, drainage design, and surveying
  • Increase your knowledge in preliminary plan creation, CAD design, plan production, cost estimation, and geometric design
  • Gain drafting and design skills in MicroStation and AutoCAD on a variety of roadway project
  • Coordinate with adjacent disciplines such as traffic, structural, and environmental engineering

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in engineering (civil preferred) from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of your undergraduate degree 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
  • Strong interest in developing diverse civil engineering skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
