Historic Community Gets State-of-the-Art Development
The community of Haymarket is one of Virginia’s oldest towns, but it faces
very contemporary development issues. One challenge is providing housing and other
essential services during a time of rapid growth: Between 1990 and 2000, the county’s
population increased by 30 percent. With the help of Burgess & Niple, one solution
is underway. B&N has provided planning, preliminary engineering and design services
for Piedmont South, a 177-acre, 900-unit residential community in Haymarket. The
project includes single-family detached homes, townhouse units, a multi-family apartment
complex and a community center. B&N was awarded the project based on its performance
in providing services on adjacent developments.
